AI workshop explores technology’s role in tourism development in West Azerbaijan

TEHRAN – An educational workshop on the applications of artificial intelligence in tourism was held in Iran’s West Azarbaijan province to strengthen the capabilities of tourism professionals, improve digital services and explore the potential of emerging technologies in developing the sector.

Managers of travel agencies, hoteliers and other tourism-sector professionals attended the workshop which was held on Sunday, Miras Aria reported.

The latest applications of artificial intelligence in the tourism industry were discussed during the training program, including the use of data mining to analyze traveler behavior, intelligent chatbots for providing round-the-clock services, and targeted content production to attract tourists.

Participants were also introduced to successful international examples and ways of using AI-powered platforms to increase productivity and improve the performance of tourism businesses, the report said.

West Azarbaijan is located in northwestern Iran and borders Azerbaijan and Turkey to the north, Turkey and Iraq to the west, East Azarbaijan and Zanjan provinces to the east, and Kordestan province to the south.
